Harry Arter admits boisterous behaviour at QPR match

Harry Arter admitted that he let his boisterous playing style get the better of him during Saturday's 2-1 win over QPR

The fiery midfielder saw red after 68 minutes when referee Jonathan Moss adjudged him to have gone in recklessly on Hoops' midfielder Junior Hoilett.

"It was just one of those tackles in the heat of the battle," Arter said after the game. "The ball went loose and it was a 50/50 and maybe I went a little bit over the top.

"I haven't really seen it properly but at the time I was surprised it was a red, I thought it would be a yellow at the most.

"It's disappointing, but I'm a player who plays on the front foot and try and play with aggression, and maybe today it got the better of me."

The Cherries free-flowing football was halted by Arter's marching orders, and a more defensive style was adopted by Eddie Howe's men to see out the remainder of the match.

"Albeit we finished the game with ten men, when it was eleven versus eleven we were by far the better team," Arter added.

"Bar the first 20 minutes I felt we controlled the game and when it went ten versus eleven we showed a different side and we showed grit.

"We were resolute, and I am thankful to the rest of the team that they carried on and didn't concede because I would have felt even more guilty for what I did.

"It's just obviously disappointing now because I miss three games."
