Monkey World Logo

Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre - Primate Rescue Centre

Monkey World is a great day out for the whole family. There are lots of different play and picnic areas suitable for toddlers to teens. Monkey World assists governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates from the wild. At the Centre, refugees of this illegal trade as well as those that have suffered abuse or neglect are rehabilitated into natural living groups. During a visit to Monkey World visitors can hear talks from educational keepers as well as observe feeding and various other activities. Monkey World is easily accessible on the A31, between Bere Regis and Wool in Dorset. Watch out for offers as they have regular promotions for families, particularly during school holidays.

Moors Valley Country Park Logo

Moors Valley Country Park

Moors Valley is a 1000-acre Country Park for the whole family, with woodland, heathland, lakes, rivers and grassland - just outside Bournemouth towards Ringwood and Verwood. Explore the forest on foot or hire a bike, walk the Play Trail and let your children climb on over 15 adventurous play structures. You can even challenge yourself on the 18-hole golf course or on the ‘pitch and putt’ course. Ride for over a mile on the Moors Valley Narrow gauge Steam Railway or swing through the trees on the 'Go Ape!' High Wire Adventure Course. Definitely a day out for everyone! Whilst entrance is free, you do pay for parking (a season ticket is well worth the investment if you return more than four times in a year), plus you have to pay for rides on the steam train and ‘Go Ape!’.

Sharkys Logo

Sharkys Play and Party Warehouse

Ideally located on the historic old harbourside within an easy stroll of the bustling town centre and fantastic golden sands of Weymouth beach. There is something for everyone here regardless of age!

Sharkys boasts a huge 4-level indoor softplay area with 6 exciting slides, including the notorious "deathslide" for the bravest over 5s! There is also a dedicated ground floor section to keep the under 5s busy. Upstairs leads to their exciting laserzone maze where over 7s can battle it out to find out who is the sharpest shooter! The top floor is dedicated to the petrol heads out there! The huge slotcar track is 6 lanes of fast and furious fun, as Scalextric-sized cars race on a computer controlled track - it doesn't get better than that! Or if that all sounds like too much energy then their licensed cafe/bar offering homemade specials and cakes is for you! Relax and watch the world go by from the harbourside terrace.

Splashdown Logo

Splashdown is the South's ultimate waterpark, offering fun for all the family.  Splashdown has some of the most exciting water flumes and even in winter there’s a choice of 8 fantastic indoor rides. Each one with its own twists and turns generating a real buzz for the rider and loads of laughs, thrills and spills for all. The Spacebowl, Red River Roller and have you met the Dragon? New for under 8s is the Little Buccaneers' Splashzone - watery fun, downpours and deluges, tipping buckets and starter flume.

The Dinosaur Museum Logo

The Dinosaur Museum

An award-winning museum with fossils, skeletons, dinosaur reconstructions plus hands on and multimedia displays. Open daily all year 9.30am - 5.30pm, winter hours 10am-4.30pm. The Dinosaur Museum is Britain's original and award winning Dinosaur Museum located in Dorchester, the county town of Dorset, only 7 miles from the Jurassic Coast.

The only museum on mainland Britain dedicated to dinosaurs, the award-winning Dinosaur Museum is a treat, especially for children. The museum combines life-sized reconstructions of dinosaurs with fossils and dinosaur skeletons to create an exciting hands-on experience. Hands-on displays help tell the story of the giant prehistoric animals and their enthralling world millions of years ago.

Life-size reconstructions - including the dinosaur T-Rex, Stegosaurus, and Triceratops - beg to be touched by little hands - it’s encouraged. Acclaimed as one of Britain's Top 10 Family Museums in 2006, the Dinosaur Museum is part of any Jurassic Coast experience.
