Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair Review

The Bournemouth Pavilion played host to Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair this weekend. As a lover of all things vintage, I couldn't wait to get through the doors.

The event was extremely popular, and we queued outside for about 20 minutes. Despite the wait, everyone was excited to be there and I heard numerous conversations about the fair and how ‘great it was last time.’ As I stood in line I realised that the Pavilion made the perfect venue for the event with its high ceilings, art deco interior and theatrical vibe.

At long last, I paid my £2 and we were in...

War Horse Review 2014

On Friday 21 February I attended an evening performance of War Horse at The Mayflower Theatre in Southampton. Having heard nothing but rave reviews, I entered the theatre with high expectations.

The theatre was full of chatter, as people roamed the isles looking for their seats. As our anticipation grew, electricity filled the auditorium, sending shivers down my spine. Then, the lights dimmed, and a single actor walked upstage, demanding the attention of the entire audience. The show had begun.

AFC Bournemouth Players Visit Julia's House

AFC stars Lee Camp and Eunan O'Kane visit Julia's House in Corfe Mullen with chairman Jeff Mostyn for an afternoon of fun-packed activities and football fun.

The trio arrived at the hospice to spend some quality time with the residents. While they were there they signed footballs, posters and programmes for the children and their families. They also got the chance to experience the work that the charity does.

The charity provides respite for life-limited children across Dorset, and works to support the entire family, offering them the rare chance to take time out and recuperate, or catch up with everyday tasks and chores.

The hospice provides an excellent standard of care, ensuring that families know that their child/sibling is being well-cared for throughout their stay.

Russell Howard 'Wonderbox' Review 2014

On Sunday 23 February I entered the doors to the BIC in Bournemouth. I was there to see Russell Howard’s new stand up show ‘Wonderbox,’ and having been an avid fan of his show ‘Good News,’ I had high expectations.

I took my seat in the auditorium, enjoying the loud music and general buzz. Slowly the room filled up as people took their seats, and eventually the room was packed to bursting point.

As 8 o'clock approached the general buzz of anticipation transformed into electricity and excitement. The lights dimmed, the strobe lights danced around the stage and Russell took his place in front of the audience, cool, calm and collected.

Cherries’ disappointment at only taking a point from Bolton

Eunan O’Kane says the Cherries’ disappointment at only taking a point from Bolton shows how much they have progressed recently.

The Cherries came back from two goals down at the Reebok Stadium to take a point back to Dorset, but ended the game in the ascendency and left disappointed not take home all three.
