Leisure and Tourism in Bournemouth

Leisure and Tourism

Welcome to Bournemouthtown.co.uk's leisure and tourism directory. Here we feature a whole range of activities that are on offer throughout Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the surrounding area.

Rich with history yet contemporary and modern, Bournemouth is buzzing with activity. Whether you want to explore your creative side in a craft workshop, dance the night away in one of our cocktail bars, wine and dine in our lively restaurants or enjoy a night of live music and comedy, Bournemouth is sure to have something to keep you entertained!

Bournemouth is perfectly positioned to visit the nearby towns of Christchurch and Poole and, of course, the New Forest, offering a variety of attractions and fun activities to suit every interest. You could hire a bike, take a picnic, enjoy a pony ride, or visit the ancient village of Burley (watch out for the witches that live there!) Also, the New Forest is home to the world famous car museum, Beaulieu. They have everything from a Cream Egg car to a display of Top Gear’s most memorable vehicles.

If you want to relax then look no farther, this stunning location has one of the best beaches in England. Bournemouth Beach and Sandbanks are the perfect places to unwind. Surrounded by glistening water and warm golden sand, you can enjoy an ice cream and soak up the sun, or visit the amusements! Bournemouth even offers Pleasure Cruises.

There are countless places for you to increase your fitness too. Bournemouth has a host of leisure centres and sports centres where you can indulge in spa treatments while the kids go swimming. You could even attend a dance class; it’s a great way to stay fit and healthy! Or if you would like a more serene environment then you can visit a Golf Club, and while away the hours on the golf course before retiring for lunch.

Take the family to Tower Park in Poole. There’s so much to do, including Empire Cinema, Monkey Business, Splashdown, Bowlplex and LA Gym. Tower Park also has a brilliant choice in family friendly restaurants, whatever you are in the mood for, Tower Park is the place to be.

If you’re more of an adventurer then why not try go-karting or paint-balling? Hidden in the New Forest is New Forest Water Park too, a perfect place to try water sports, including banana boat rides and wakeboarding! What more could an adventurer ask for?

In Bournemouth town centre, there are plenty of activities and attractions, including ice skating at the BIC and the Bournemouth Oceanarium. The historic Pavilion plays host to a variety of shows, art exhibitions and much more.

Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are also host to many local festivals, including the annual Bournemouth Air Festival in August and Sand Polo at Sandbanks. Other events and activities on offer include Christmas Markets, Christchurch Food Festival, Pride of Bournemouth, Wind Fest, Poole Park Festival and many more local festivals.
