Strouden Park Medical Centre

Strouden Park Medical Centre

Strouden Park Medical Center had its relaunch day 14th January 2016

Strouden Park Medical Centre (SPMC) was built in 1967 as a GP surgery and has remain basically unchanged until
being taken over as a branch of Providence Surgery in summer of 2013.  The medical facilities were very tired and the interior was in desperate need of refurbishment throughout.

Dr Mufeed Ni’Man has a vision for SPMC being a Centre of Medical Excellence in NHS patient care combined with specialist private facilities, he commissioned a feasibility study and project plan to facilitate this vision to reality.  After consulting medical design specialists we commenced a program of refurbishment included;

-Creating a new reception.

-Adding 2 additional consulting rooms, 1 from the old reception + 1 upstairs in a meeting room.

-Existing 3 consulting were increased in size by knocking down 2 smaller rooms.

-Throughout the downstairs the carpet was removed & replaced with vinyl flooring being more hygienic and easier to clean. Each room decorated and all new furniture fitted.

Additional equipment installed unique in an NHS GP environment

-Echocardiogram

-X-Ray

-Shockwave Therapy

-Ultrasound

-Slit-Lamp Eye Exam

-Lynton Laser

The total cost for refurbishment and medical equipment was over £250,000 this was supported by private investment and successfully bidding for national grants.

The new medical team and specialists include;

-Sports Injuries

-Dermatology

-Podiatry

-Eye care

-Laser & Beauty treatments

-Acupuncture

-Vascular Diagnostics

-Sports Physiotherapy

Dr Ni’Man has been working with AFC Bournemouth back room medical team for the last 20years and has been Team Doctor the 1st half of this season & he says “It has been fantastic to have been part of the rise of Bournemouth to Premier League with the opportunity to travel with the team to all the big Premier League ground has been amazing”.

AFCB Players, staff and their families are often seen at SPMC for treatment on sports injuries, general medical care or scan with our unique mobile MRI extremity scanner facility (the only one in NHS primary care, purchased in 2015)

Mr Christopher Hughes is the operations manager of our group including SPMC / Providence Surgery / Crescent Surgery / Connections4Health, he has been instrumental in the expansion of our medical facilities. 'Managing the SPMC project has been a fantastic challenge to buck the trend in expanding rather than declining GP" - NHS facilities.

Our commercial manager David Beale has been working with Vitality Health (AFCB official sponsors) to gain recognition of SPMC as a Vitality Out-Patient Clinic for specialist diagnostics & treatments. We are pleased to announce this has been agreed with Vitality Health and we look forward to a long relationship treating there staff and clients.

We were delighted to have Eddie Howe officially opening the SPMC following the completed refurbishments.  Also attended Steve Fletcher + Simon Frances and a number of wives from AFCB, plus Councillor John Trickett.
