Maritime Hattrick for Signature Catering Company

For Signature Catering Company from Dorset it was a hat-trick of maritime activities this May as they were the chosen providers for THREE very different maritime-themed events which took place during the Poole Maritime Festival in Dorset and which saw thousands of visitors from the UK and Europe as well as VIPs, dignitaries and the local community turn out in force.

The Poole Maritime Festival took place from the 15th - 21st May and hosted the first ever European Maritime Day Conference, and Poole was chosen as the place to represent the UK.

The festival included a conference, the annual Poole Boat show, Taste of the South and many other activities. Signature Catering are one of Dorset’s leading award winning businesses and they set sail with the maritime festival catering for Estuarine & Coastal Sciences Association Poole Harbour Study Group at the Marine Protected Areas- Science, Policy and Management Conference on Wednesday. They then showcased another buffet when VIP guests set sail on board City Cruises and navigated around Poole Harbour as they took in the delights of the area whilst enjoying delicious canapés on board.

Then from Friday 19th May through to Sunday 21st May the Signature Catering team took part in Taste of the South where alongside Piddle Brewery and many other traders they had a whirlwind three days of high winds, rain and brilliant sunshine and created the ultimate Mexican fiesta called Taco Bay which used local ingredients such as Swanage Bay Crab, Lyme Bay Scallops and Local Batter Fried Fish to serve up the taste of maritime themed seafood tacos and quesadillas that were bursting with flavour downed with a pint of Piddle’s or a local gin and tonic or two!.

Said Richard Abson, Co-Founder of Signature Catering, “It’s been a busy few days, and we are proud to be involved with a variety of activities during the Poole Maritime Festival, it is great to see so many events take place and the place full of people. At Taste of the South we met local people from the community as well as others from overseas and from across the UK and the feedback has been very positive. We as a business feel it is important to show what we can do and also support the other local businesses of the area. To be a part of such a historic event for Dorset was a great honour. I hope this isn’t a one off and there will be more events like these in the area again in the near future.”
