Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading cancer charity. The charity aims to prevent, diagnose and treat all forms of life-threatening cancer, in turn saving millions of lives throughout the world.
Today 2 in 4 people survive cancer, but Cancer Research UK’s aim is to better these chances, eventually erasing cancer completely. At present the charity’s ambition is to accelerate progress through pioneering research so that 3 in 4 people will survive cancer within the next 20 years.
Cancer Research UK has already had successes regarding their research. The charity’s successes include advances in radiotherapy and BRCA breakthroughs.
Public fundraising and donations support the charity’s research and make it possible for scientists to explore new avenues and cures.
