Langside School Pupils Get Creative for Christmas

Pupils from Langside, a special school for children aged two to 19 with profound disabilities run by Diverse Abilities, have designed a range of Christmas cards to help raise vital funds to continue the support for children and adults with disabilities in Dorset.

This year’s range of festive cards are from pupils Ken, Angel, Julian, Alicia, Amelia and James, who all enjoyed listening to Christmas music whilst creating the vibrant cards. The children used their hands and feet to make their creations. Angel used her communication book to choose the colours in her picture of baby Jesus and James enjoyed feeling the texture of the fur and the cotton wool when he was making the three wise men Christmas card.

Jon Seaward, principal at Langside School, said: “Giving the children the opportunity to get creative is a really fun and stimulating exercise for them. The funds raised from the cards will also have a substantial impact on the charity.”

The specially designed Christmas cards are now on sale and are being sold for £4.00 per pack of 12 or £10.00 for 3 packs. International Cards & Gifts (ICG) kindly printed the cards for Diverse Abilities at no cost which means that all the proceeds will go directly to the charity.

To purchase the cards directly from Diverse Abilities, call 01202 718266 or pop into the charity’s head office located near Tower Park.
