Supporting Blind and Partially Sighted People to Live Happy

Our mission:

We believe that sight loss shouldn’t have to mean missing out. We work to ensure that our members can live the life they want. That can be very different from person to person.

Diverse Abilities is Here to Help Save Your Family Stress

The Advice Team at Diverse Abilities, a local disability charity, is encouraging the Dorset community to create a lasting power of attorney (LPA) to avoid stress for their family in the future. Woofability Whiskey and Marco

Woofability Golden Retrievers

Golden Retrievers Whiskey and Marco have been placed with children residing in Wiltshire named Ethan and Poppy, who both have Down’s Syndrome. Having a dog in the family provides comfort and focus for the children but also means that being out in the community is much less challenging. Ethan’s mum, Pippa, says, “Whiskey is a wonderful dog who bonded with Ethan very quickly and they became best friends within days. Ethan is now comfortable being in shops and noisy places instead of running away and hiding or becoming distressed.
