Purple HR opens new premises and announces future expansion plans

Mandy Fitzmaurice and Leanne Pick have taken on 1200 sq ft new premises in central Bournemouth which includes four offices and two training rooms. Their business, Purple HR, has enjoyed year on year growth since it was launched during the recession in early 2010.

Purple HR is a commercial business working with SMEs to help them manage the risks that come alongside being an employer and realise the true potential of their people.

Says Mandy Fitzmaurice, “We are now in our 5th year of trading and have taken on these new premises as a part of our development and growth, our aim is to increase our client base across the South and we expect to see a 50% increase in turnover by 2017."

Travel grant to help local businesses from Dorset City Counc

Local businesses are being offered another chance to apply for a new travel grant from Dorset County Council, with up to £3,000 per application up for grabs.

The scheme is designed to help firms start incentives that encourage more people to walk, cycle or use public transport on the journey to work.

As well as boosting the local economy and helping to tackle road congestion, the initiative also aims to boost the health and wellbeing of staff.

Businesses in Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and Christchurch can apply for up to £3,000 in match funding towards the introduction of cycle parking, lockers, showers or changing facilities, signage, pool bikes, and more.

A passion for wine brings new recruit into business

Templar Wines

Chad Christian, wine expert and sommelier from The Hotel Du Vin Poole, has joined the Templar Wines team. Templar Wines are a specialist wine importer and merchant supplying the “On-Trade” across Dorset and the New Forest. Chad will be supporting Directors, Max Bracher and Jeff Bowden as their Business Development Manager. His role will include sales, customer service, as well as creating wine lists to harmonise food menus for chefs and businesses in the Dorset and New Forest.

Says Templar Wine Director Max Bracher, “Chad’s sommelier experience will bring a greater depth of focus and knowledge in our quest to harmonise restaurants’ food and wine propositions, working with both Wine buyer and the Chef. Our aim is to achieve a true gastronomic experience, marrying great food with the perfect wine. When Chefs create their food menus he will work with them to develop new wine lists which will enhance and complement any meal.”

Dorset based design agency Chapter 2 announce that they are re-branding as The Impressive Group.

The Impressive Group will still be owned and run by directors and co-founders, Karen Bidgood and Tracey Cooke with the addition of Harry Bidgood as a third director. Harry has complimented Chapter 2 from the beginning with general management, print buying and sourcing promotional business gifts.

The Impressive Group will continue to deliver the same high level of design that has become well renowned with Chapter 2 – branding, brochures, catalogues and design for web. The new services include an in-house photography studio, Point of Sale (POS) items, promotional product lines, charity fundraising merchandise and e-drops, in fact, anything that needs designing.
